Zimbali ("valley of flowers", in the local Zulu dialect), is located in a private wilderness concession encompassing coastal forest, naturally occurring lakes and wetlands. As a protected environment, its surroundings are also home to a wide variety of wildlife, butterflies and birdlife.
Located 45km north of Durban and within close proximity to many of Kwa-Zulu Natal’s main attractions, including “Big 5” safari parks and the famous battlefield sites, Zimbali is perfectly positioned as a gateway to the best of South Africa’s Eastern Cape.
Accommodation
Zimbali's 76 air-conditioned rooms and suites are situated in small cottages dotted around the landscaped gardens. The rooms are spacious and fully en-suite. Amenities include satellite TV, telephone, safe, Wi-Fi and a balcony granting beautiful views of the sea, lagoon or forest.
The suites are larger and plusher than the standard (Fairmont) rooms. They feature impressive bathrooms with free-standing Victorian-style bathtubs, separate lounge areas, and two balconies.

The restaurant is situated to make the most of the ocean views, and caters for indoor and outdoor dining. There are a number of bars and restaurants on-site, and the menus change daily.
