Acacia Farm Lodge is a charming country retreat set on an active farm just outside the town of Karatu. Perched on the rim of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, it enjoys marvellous views of the surrounding highlands.
Acacia Farm Lodge is situated between Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, making it a convenient stop-over during a typical Northern Circuit safari. Day trips into Lake Manyara National Park are easy from Karatu, while the Ngorongoro Highlands are only a short drive away.
Besides its convenient location, Acacia Farm Lodge has a pleasant, down-to-earth atmosphere. Opened in 2014, it's quickly become one of our favourite lodges on Tanzania's busy northern circuit, thanks to its intimate atmosphere and generous staff. The rooms are tastefully, if rather simply, furnished, the facilities excellent and the rates very reasonable.
Accommodation
Acacia Farm Lodge has just 28 cosy chalets, all of them modern, comfortably furnished structures with thatched roofs. The rooms are fully en-suite. Amenities include mini bar, tea/coffee facilities, satellite TV and Wi-Fi. All rooms have a verandah overlooking the farm, with most of them positioned to catch the sunset.

Delicious meals prepared with fresh produce from the farm or Karatu town market are served in the dining room, on your private verandah, or outdoors on the garden lawn.
