Tucked away in old Graaff-Reinet, a historic town in the heart of the Karoo Midlands, Andries Stockenström is a gracious old manor house offering Karoo-style haute cuisine and the best South African hospitality. This private guest house is personally managed by owners Andre and Beatrice, and has won a number of awards for its excellent food and service. It is one of our very favourite guesthouses in the region.
Graaff-Reinet has a great deal to offer travellers. Stroll streets lined with Cape Dutch and Victorian-era architectural treasures, of which more than 200 are now considered National Monuments; visit the awesome Valley of Desolation and nearby nature reserve; or take a trip to the Owlhouse at Nieu Bethesda. Graaff Reinet is only a short drive from the private game reserves of the Eastern Cape and a scenic drive over the Tsitsikamma mountains to the Garden Route. Alternatively, simply relax on the pool terrace or in the lounge.
