Borana offers a range of activities, most of which are included in the cost of your stay. Rhino tracking will be the highlight for most visitors, but game drives and walks will also reveal a wealth of other wildlife. Additional activities, including horse riding and mountain biking, are also possible on the conservancy.
Accommodation
Borana is a small, private lodge, with only eight cottages, each with a spacious communal living area. Four cottages have large double beds and four have twin queen size beds. Four of the cottages are conjoined to form two separate family units (one double and one twin), each with private dining area and private plunge pool.
Each of Borana’s cottages is built of rock and cedar with a thatched roof. They all have open fireplaces, which are lit by the staff in the evenings. The cottages open onto a veranda with panoramic views of the Samangua Valley, the Lewa Plains and the Ngare Ndare Forest.
Dining
Meals are prepared in the lodge kitchen using produce grown on the ranch or sourced locally. Lunches and dinners are typically enjoyed communally in the lodge dining room, though private meals can also be arranged when preferred – each of the family units has a private dining area for this purpose.
