Note: Delta Dunes is currently closed due to the ongoing tensions between Kenya and Somalia and the British foreign office advising against travel to this region of the Kenyan coast. It is expected that the lodge will re-open in the future.
Delta Dunes is one of the most unique beach properties on Kenya's mainland coast. It boasts a wonderfully remote location, perched high on the dunes of the Tana Delta, overlooking the Indian Ocean at the point where the Tana River reaches the sea. The views are beautiful and, with only seven cottages at this intimate eco-lodge, you'll have them largely to yourself.
Delta Dunes is not a typical beach retreat; for one thing, it's proximity to the Tana Delta allows for a much wider range of activities than is available elsewhere. Guests at Delta Dunes have the option of a variety of river and sea activities, including game-viewing river cruises, birding tours, snorkelling, and water sports such as wakeboarding and kayaking in the wetlands and among the mangroves. But Delta Dunes also lends itself easily to rest and relaxation, thanks to its superb location and 'castaway' vibe.
