Duma Tau

Linyanti, Botswana

Duma Tau

Situated under a grove of garcinia trees overlooking a major floodplain of the Linyanti River, DumaTau offers both land and water based game-viewing activities, making it a wonderful all-round safari camp.

Part of the Wilderness Safaris portfolio, DumaTau is a stylish, ten-room camp with a superb location in the Linyanti Reserve, where it sits on a major floodplain of the Linyanti River between Chobe National Park and the Okavango Delta. This is brilliant game-viewing territory, with very high concentrations of hippo, lion, plains game, and occasional wild dog and cheetah sightings. From its discreet perch under a grove of ebony and garcinia trees, DumaTau overlooks a busy lagoon frequented by a variety of game.

DumaTau Camp is at first sight a conventional bush camp, built with canvas and wooden beams on raised decking, but on closer inspection the clean, light colours and modern furnishings of the expansive public areas give it a very modern feel—part classic safari camp, part "Nordic" cool.

Comfortable, stylish and with a superb location, this is one of our favourite camps in the Linyanti region.

Environmental Policy

Duma Tau Camp is run by Wilderness Safaris. Wilderness is a company at the forefront of eco-tourism who employ full-time environmentalists to ensure their camps are as eco-friendly as possible. Solar heating and power, limited burning of fossil fuels and utilising battery-operated lighting systems are standard. All camps are small, mostly tented and designed to blend into the natural environment. Their goal is that if a camp has to be moved the site can be restored to its natural state. Their "conservation through tourism" policy shares the benefits of tourism with local communities and ensures the protection of these areas for future generations.

The camp is powered entirely by solar energy.
