Gisakura Guest House is situated just two kms from Nyungwe Forest Park and is the only lodge in the area. Although quite basic, the guest house is clean and comfortable and surrounded by attractive gardens. This is an ideal, indeed the only, place to stay if you want to explore the Park and enjoy walks in the forest where you can see troops of Colobus monkeys and fabulous birdlife. The staff are hospitable and helpful.
As the only lodge in the area, your stay at Gisakura Guest House is something of a fait accompli if you want to explore this part of Nyungwe. Thankfully, it's a pleasant place to stay.
Accommodation
Gisakura Guesthouse offers accommodation in unattractive stone bungalows with shared bathroom facilities, which are supplied with hot water. The rooms are sparsely furnished but clean.
Dining
The food at Gisakura Guesthouse is generally good and plentiful from our experience. As meals are freshly prepared, and the service more than a bit slow, it is recommended that you order dinner in advance!
