Gold Zanzibar Beach House & Spa is situated on the north-west coast of Zanzibar. It’s one of several hotels located on Kendwa Beach, which is among Zanzibar’s finest beaches.
Its location its primary asset, Gold Zanzibar is a medium-sized luxury resort that boasts all the amenities expected of a hotel of this category, though it perhaps lacks some of the intimacy and exclusivity of Zanzibar’s best upmarket retreats.
The facilities at Gold Zanzibar are excellent. A huge saltwater pool overlooks the beach, as does the adjoining sun terrace. There is a selection of bars and restaurants (both buffet and a la carte), and a dive centre and gym. Beach activities include snorkelling, diving, windsurfing and canoeing. Kendwa is one of the least tidal beaches on Zanzibar, making it safe to swim at any hour of the day.
Accommodation
There are 70 rooms at Gold Zanzibar, ranging from deluxe garden view rooms to luxury beach suites. The standard category rooms are located on the hillside a short distance from the beach – some but not all offer a view of the sea. They are spacious and have private balconies and en-suite bathrooms, as well as all the expected modern amenities (satellite TV, AC, room safe etc). The luxury beach suites have a separate sitting area, jacuzzi and, of course, a wonderful view of the ocean.
There are ten inter-connecting rooms and two 2-bedroom villas that are ideal for families.
