Opened in 2011, the Gondola Hotel & Spa provides a convenient base in the heart of Hanoi's Old Quarter, within easy walking distance of Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple, and a short drive from Dong Xuan and Hanoi's lively night market. Its 50 rooms overlook the old quarter or lake, and come equipped with all the expected amenities - air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, LCD TV, soundproof windows, and en-suite bathrooms with either bath or shower.
The Gondola is one of our preferred mid-range hotels in central Hanoi. It's clean, quiet and enjoys an exceptional location. The Italian-influenced decor and spa give it a bit more character than most hotels of this category, and as a relatively new hotel, the service is generally very reliable.
Accommodation
The Gondola Hotel offers 50 rooms which can be booked as either twins or doubles. All are furnished in a clean, crisp style, with dark wood furnishings, Italian-inspired decor and great views. The rooms are divided into 5 categories: Superior, Deluxe, Executive and Junior and Family Suites. Amenities are largely the same across the rooms but the size varies. The Superior rooms, at 22m2, are comparable to most hotel rooms in Hanoi's Old Quarter (i.e. small). Deluxe offer more space and bath and shower in the bathrooms.
All rooms are air-conditioned, and equipped with Wi-Fi (throughout hotel), satellite TV, phones, tea/coffee facilities, hair dryer and laptop-compatible safes.
Dining
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the dining room or via 24-hour room service. Breakfast is a generous buffet. Lunch and dinner are a la carte with set menu options.
There's a stylish rooftop bar, the Cielo, open until 11pm each evening. A complimentary reception with drinks is provided daily.
