Gorilla’s Nest is set in the foothills of the Virunga Mountains, surrounded by eucalyptus forest. The park protects this magnificent mountain range and its several ecosystems, which include bamboo and evergreen forest, swamp, marshes, open grassland and heath. Most famous as the home to the rare mountain gorillas, Volcanoes NP also offers other interesting wildlife including hyena, buffalo, duika and the rare golden monkey. Birding is exceptionally good here and elephants are occasionally seen.
Accommodation
