The Hansa Hotel is a comfortable four-star hotel situated in the centre of Swakopmund. A local landmark, the Hansa dates back to 1905 making it one of the town’s oldest hotels. It's a reasonably small hotel (59 rooms), with a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and superb service. It is within easy walking distance of the beach and many of Swakopmund’s shops, restaurants and bars.
The Hansa Hotel is one of the best places to stay in Swakopmund, thanks to its ideal location, reasonable rates and comfortable rooms. We tend to recommend one of the town’s smaller guesthouses to most of our clients, but the Hansa is reliable and has a bit of character.
Accommodation
The Hansa's 59 rooms are a mix of twins, doubles, family units and suites. The décor and facilities are largely identical across the rooms, but the view differs, with some overlooking the street and others the garden. Amenities include television, room safe, underfloor-heating, tea and coffee facilities, and en-suite bathroom with separate shower and bath. The four suites feature a separate lounge.
Dining
Leisurely lunches overlooking the inner gardens are served on the terrace. Breakfast and dinner are typically served in the main dining room, with seafood and local game specialties, along with a good wine list, featuring prominently on the menu.
