This remote and wild region offers visitors a landscape of desert dunes, river valleys and mountains, with the only settlements being those of the nomadic Himba and Herero tribespeople that call the region home. Hoanib Valley Camp is a joint venture between these local communities and the Giraffe Conservation Foundation, and offers a gateway to this wild and beautiful region.
Hoanib Valley Camp is small and personal, with only six tented rooms built on elevated decking of recycled wood and bamboo. The expansive communal area has a dining area and bar as well as a lounge area furnished with comfy sofas. Meals may also be served indoors or outside on the veranda. There is a fire pit to the front where guests can enjoy morning coffee and a pre-dinner drink under the spectacular desert night sky. The lodge has a small plunge pool.
Hoanib Valley Camp combines well with its sister property, Shipwreck Lodge. A full day game drive between the camps can be arranged.
