Hotel by the Red Canal is a characterful boutique hotel with a tranquil setting in the centre of Mandalay, close to the Royal Palace and the town's many other sights. It is one of Mandalay’s smallest, most intimate hotels, and a welcome change from the larger resorts that are your main alternative in the city centre.
The Hotel by the Red Canal has been designed in a traditional Burmese style, with intricate pyatthat roofing and teak and rattan furnishings. The design is attractive without being gaudy. Surrounding the property are manicured tropical gardens complete with water features.
Accommodation
The Hotel by the Red Canal offers 26 rooms, divided into categories which take their names—and much of their décor—from the four major ethnic groups of Myanmar: the Chin, Kachin, Rakhine and Shan.
All of the rooms feature teak furniture and floors, and amenities including air-con, satellite TV, internet access and tea and coffee making facilities.
Dining
The Spice Garden restaurant serves the freshest of Burmese and Indian cuisine, with all dishes prepared the same day. The two-storey restaurant offers indoor and al fresco dining.
