From mid-November to mid-March, Kimondo Camp is located in the remote Kusini region of the southern Serengeti. There are very few camps in this area making it a great spot from which to observe the spectacle of the wildebeest migration and calving season away from the crowded central and northern Serengeti. Between July and September, the camp moves to northern Serengeti and is positioned on the Lamai Wedge, a particularly scenic location close to the border with the Masai Mara in Kenya, in order to track the famous Mara River crossings.
Kimondo is one of the latest additions to the Asilia portfolio of mid to top end camps in East Africa. It falls within their very comfortable mid-range category, and is designed in the style of a traditional bush camp but without some of the additional comforts and flair associated with their top-end camps.
Accommodation
Kimondo has eight canvas tents, all furnished with large wrought iron beds made up with soft linen bedding. A curtain separates the bedroom from the en-suite bathroom, which has a flush loo, two washbasins, and two bucket showers which the camp staff will fill with warm water on request. Colourful throws and curtains add a warm Arabic feel to the décor. Each tent has a verandah with chairs and a small table.

Indoor or outdoor dining is offered depending on the weather.
