Kirurumu Tented Camp is one of the oldest owner-run properties in the Lake Manyara region. It's a small and comfortable, if not exactly luxurious, lodge, with a great location. From its perch on a high hill, Kirurumu overlooks the Great Rift Valley escarpment and Lake Manyara, while directly behind the camp rise the Ngorongoro Highlands.
With its informal atmosphere, friendly staff, and pleasant bar and lounge, Kirurumu is a great choice for those wanting a relaxed stay close to Lake Manyara. Kirurumu is not the only small lodge in the region, but the others tend to be very expensive luxury camps within the park itself, such as Lake Manyara Tree Lodge, or else budget retreats; whereas Kirurumu sits comfortably between the two. Kirurumu also works well for families and those who are a bit more active, as there's lots to do from the camp besides visiting the Lake—mountain biking, guided walks and village tours are all on offer.
Accommodation
Kirurumu Tented Camp offers 27 double and twin 'tented rooms', two of which are honeymoon suites. Each of the rooms is comfortably furnished and opens at the front onto a wooden verandah with a pleasant view. The rooms are en-suite with separate shower and toilet.
Dining
Kirurumu's dining room overlooks the Rift Escarpment. The menu changes daily based on what's in season, with all the fruit and vegetables are home grown in the organic lodge gardens.

Child Policy
Children are welcome at Kirurumu Tented Camp and stay at reduced rates. Children under the age of 6 can be accommodated free of charge if sharing with an adult.
