This delightfully small boutique hotel is located on Norodom Boulevard in the centre of Phnom Penh, from where it enjoys easy access to the major sights, the central market and Sisowath Quay. With just 10 guest rooms, La Rose offers a very intimate atmosphere and highly personalised service. The ambience is wonderful and the staff both kind and helpful.
La Rose is extremely good value for a hotel of its quality; the best place to stay in Phnom Penh, we would argue, unless you particularly value the extra facilities (pool, bar, gym, etc) that come with a larger hotel.
La Rose Boutique is independently-owned and managed. The hotel has become very popular since it opened in 2012, and recently expanded with the creation of La Rose Suites in 2014. These are situated a short distance from La Rose Boutique Hotel. We’ve yet to visit the suites, but will provide a write-up when we do. What we do know is that the new hotel is larger (25 rooms) and offers additional facilities including a pool (which guests at La Rose Boutique are also able to use—a free shuttle service is provided). The overall aesthetic, including the design of the rooms, is very similar to that of La Rose Boutique Hotel.
Accommodation
La Rose’s spacious rooms are contemporary and bright with striking colour contrasts. All are equipped with air-conditioning units, satellite TV, Wi-Fi, tea and coffee making facilities, and mini fridge. We love the modern features and dark mahogany furniture. The rooms are immaculately serviced.
Dining
La Rose was originally a restaurant before it became a boutique hotel, and a good one at that - the food is just fantastic! The ground-floor La Rose Restaurant serves a terrific menu of Cambodian and wider Asian dishes, plus a selection of snacks. Be sure to try the fish amok.
