Lake Manyara Wildlife Camp perches on the edge of the Rift Valley Escarpment, overlooking the lake on one side and the vast Ngorongoro Highlands on the other.
A relatively simple lodge, Lake Manyara Wildlife Camp is often used as a one-night stopover for groups en route to Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti, but with good facilities and a convenient location – 10 minutes’ drive from the entrance to Manyara National Park – you could happily spend a few days here in comfort exploring the lake and the surrounding highlands.
Lake Manyara Wildlife Camp is open year-round.
Accommodation
Lake Manyara Wildlife Camp offers ten tents and sixteen self-contained cottages, all positioned so as to make the most of the views (though not all rooms offer a clear view of the lake) and equipped with basic amenities (ceiling fan, electric lights, and en-suite bathrooms with hot water shower). Each tent/cottage opens onto a private balcony area.
Pathways connect the rooms to the main public areas, including restaurant, thatched lounge and bar, and an outdoor pool and terrace with sun chairs.
There is a single honeymoon suite, offering extra space and an unobstructed view of Lake Manyara.
Dining
Breakfast is a generous buffet served under thatch in the open-air restaurant. Lunch and dinner are a la carte, with a mixed menu of Indian, Italian and continental cuisine.
Private bush barbecues, served on the escarpment ridge with a view of the lake, can be arranged for groups.
