Le Méridien Fisherman's Cove is one of the very oldest hotels in the Seychelles, having opened originally in 1943. Despite its age it's a thoroughly modern resort, having been through several refurbishments and a long period of closure until its reopening at the turn of the millennium. It has a superb location on Beau Vallon Beach, within a bay on the northern edge of Mahe Island, from where it looks out to North and Silhouette Islands. It's a short half-hour drive from the airport and barely 10 minutes from the capital of Seychelles, Victoria.
Accommodation
There are 70 guest rooms at Le Méridien Fisherman's Cove, divided into six categories, which range from the superior rooms to the grand Allamanda suites. All of the rooms are spacious and attractively decorated (some in a modern style, others in traditional Creole style), and each has a private verandah overlooking the sea. Tea/coffee making facilities, satellite television, mini bar, room safe, hairdryers and bathrobes are available in all rooms.
Dining
There are two restaurants at Le Méridien Fisherman's Cove: Le Cardinal, the main restaurant serving buffet breakfasts and a la carte lunch and dinner with views of the sea, and Le Bourgeois, located right on the beachfront on a raised timber jetty, and specialising in seafood and Mediterranean-style cooking.
There's also a cocktail bar, Le Cocoloba, overlooking the sea.
