Le Quartier Français is a charming auberge situated in valley of Franschhoek, in the Winelands region of South Africa's Eastern Cape. It's a small, pretty hotel, with just 21 rooms. It has been decorated in a rustic Mediterranean style, rather than the Cape Dutch fashion that is common to this region.
Le Quartier’s buildings were originally labourers' cottages which have since been restored but still maintain their original Provencal façades. The cottages surround pristine landscaped gardens and a large, natural pool - perfect for relaxing while appreciating the mountain and wineland setting.
Accommodation
Le Quartier Français offers 21 beautifully furnished rooms, each designed with a rustic Mediterranean farmhouse style in mind. All are en-suite, air-conditioned and feature underfloor heating, TV, DVD/CD player, electronic safe and a wood-burning fireplace. In addition there are six suites which open onto secluded gardens and private pools.
Dining
Perhaps the highlight of staying at Le Quartier Français is the wonderful cuisine. The Tasting Room offers four, six or eight course dinners from an award winning menu, while iCi is a relaxed street side café and bar open seven days a week - ideal for breakfast, lunch or a casual dinner.
Le Quartier Français is booked on a B&B basis.
