Mashatu Tented Camp is the sister camp to Mashatu Main Camp. For more on the latter and the Mashatu Game Reserve in general, see our Mashatu Main Camp write-up.
Mashatu Tented Camp is the smaller of the two Mashatu camps, and offers an altogether more private experience. The camp centres around an open-sided thatch deck where meals are served and a traditional boma for intimate campfire dinners. Mashatu Tented Camp also contains a very welcome plunge pool, the perfect place to retreat to after a hot and dusty game drive! The service here as Mashatu Main Camp is exceptional. You will be taken care of during safari activities by dedicated guides and on your return to camp by your hosts.
Like Mashatu Main Camp, Tented Camp provides for a great range of activities, including not just the standard 4x4 game drives, but also walking safaris, biking safaris (these take place on the perimeters of the reserve where the game is more limited), horse-riding safaris, and more.
Accommodation
Mashatu Tented Camp offers eight twin tents, accommodating a maximum of sixteen guests. Although rustic in character every facility is provided. The tents are insect-proofed, have comfortable beds and each has an en-suite shower and W.C. facility. There are no family rooms available at Mashatu Tent Camp.
Dining
Meals are served on the thatch deck with a view of the surrounding bush, or in Lalapalm enclosed boma under starlight.
