Mbuzi Mawe Tented Camp is situated in the heart of the Serengeti, close to the game-rich Seronera Valley and the Western Corridor. This is one of the busiest areas of the Park, both in terms of wildlife and visitors, but the game is superb and the views stunning. Mbuzi Mawe also has the advantage of being located on one of the main migration corridors.
Mbuzi Mawe offers just sixteen tents. It is part of the Serena chain of East African lodges, though as a small and intimate luxury camp it stands out from their larger hotels, its small size and friendly service giving it a personal, relaxed feel. The decor and overall ambience is that of a traditional East African safari camp, though Mbuzi Mawe is not a bush camp, and amenities include 24-hour electricity and constant hot running water.
Accommodation
Mbuzi Mawe offers 16 traditional Meru-style safari tents, all spacious and comfortably furnished, with separate dressing area, bathroom en-suite with shower and flush loo, two double beds, and verandah with sunbed. The tents have constant electricity and hot running water.
Dining
Cooked breakfasts are provided each morning, accompanied by a light buffet of fruits and cereals. Lunch and dinner meals are plated with a changing selection of dishes each day, and accompanied by a salad buffet. There's a lovely shaded terrace where most meals are served.
The bar is well-stocked with local and imported beers, wines and spirits.
