Mushara Lodge is located in the privately owned Mushara Reserve, about 5 miles from the Eastern gate of Etosha National Park. It offers fully-furnished, lodge-style accommodation in a comfortable setting - a contrast to the altogether more basic bush camps located within the Park.
Mushara is a fairly small lodge, with ten well-appointed chalets and a central meeting point with bar, restaurant and lounge. The open-air main building is set under thatch and has a cosy fireplace and lounge area at its centre. The lodge grounds are dotted with Terminalia, or 'Mushara' trees, which provide shade to the swimming pool and the walkways that link the guest rooms to the main lodge building.
Activities at Mushara Lodge include guided game drives into Etosha National Park, which are offered on a daily basis, as well as nature walks on the Mushara Reserve (not possible within the National Park). Game on the reserve is limited compared to the national park, but being able to explore on foot allows for a different perspective on this unique eco-system.
Mushara Lodge has two sister camps located within the Mushara Reserve, Mushara Outpost and Mushara Bush Camp (not currently listed on our website).
Accommodation
Mushara Lodge accommodates guests in ten spacious chalets. Each is comfortably furnished and equipped with hotel style amenities, including air-con, and full en-suite facilities (some rooms have shower only; some bath and shower). These are very comfortable guestrooms, with facilities comparable to a hotel, though they don't quite offer the bush camp experience that you might associate with a safari camp.
Dining
Meals are served in the dining room where there is a fireplace for winter evenings. There is a well-stocked bar and wine cellar.
A light buffet breakfast is provided each morning, and a three-course plated meal in the evening.
