Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge perches on the rim of Ngorongoro Crater, from where it enjoys a stunning view of the crater plains below. The sheer size of Sopa makes it hard to recommend without reservation, as despite its great location, generous facilities and affordable rates, some guests will prefer a smaller and more personal safari camp or lodge. But for groups, families with children, or those with a preference for a lodge with amenities, Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge represents an excellent choice, offering very efficient service and a simply stunning location – the best of any property in the Ngorongoro region, we would argue, including closest rival Ngorongoro Serena.

There are 91 well-appointed double rooms, all with two queen size beds, separate dressing area, and a glass fronted verandah.
There are in addition 6 single rooms.
Dining
The restaurant area serves a buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner. Afternoon tea can be enjoyed in the coffee bar or outdoors overlooking the Crater. Early dinner can be arranged for children and the staff will always cater for special diets if advised in advance.
There is also a cosy bar with a log fire and comfy armchairs, where you can relax and enjoy a drink at any time of day.

Child Policy
Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge accepts children of all ages. Those under the age of three stay free of charge, while those under the age of twelve are accommodated at 50% the adult rate if sharing a room. Children aged seventeen and under stay at 75% of the standard adult rate.
