The crown jewel of Saigon's hotels, the Park Hyatt Saigon enjoys a marvellous location opposite the Opera House on Lam Son Square, right in the very heart of the city. Saigon's major downtown attractions, including the Ben Thanh Market, Reunification Palace and Notre Dame Cathedral, are only a short stroll away.
Originally constructed by the French colonists, and later used as an American military barracks, the Park Hyatt is a gargantuan hotel, and won't appeal to those with a preference for small, boutique retreats (not that Saigon has many of those). Its nine stories tower over Lam Son Square. It's certainly Saigon's grandest and most eye-catching hotel.
The amenities and service at the Park Hyatt Saigon are first-class, as one would expect from this chain of upmarket contemporary hotels. There's a substantial courtyard pool, fully-equipped gym, award-winning spa, and a good selection of Vietnamese and international restaurants. The hotel's design, outside of the rooms, is decidedly modern, with few of the colonial-era throwbacks apparent in Saigon's other five-star hotels.
Accommodation
The 244 rooms and suites are tastefully furnished with hardwood furniture and decorated with photos of old Saigon. All enjoy a view of the city or the hotel courtyard. The higher-category rooms open onto private terraces overlooking the square.
Facilities in all rooms include air conditioning, satellite TV, internet access and in-room safe.
Dining
The Park Hyatt has two restaurants, the smart Square One, where guests can dine indoors or out from a menu featuring Western and Vietnamese specialities. The Opera is a casual trattoria-style restaurant overlooking the Opera House.
