Located deep in the bush on the border between the Mara North and Lemek Conservancies, Saruni Wild is one of the most remote camps in the Masai Mara.
Though it is part of the luxury Saruni brand, Saruni Wild adopts a very simple design in keeping with the style of a traditional bush camp (albeit with some added comforts!) The small size of the camp, and the lack of electricity, really emphasises the authentic ‘bush’ atmosphere.
Small and intimate, Saruni Wild has just three tents making it perfect for small groups. Families have the option of booking the entire camp on an exclusive basis, avoiding the need to share vehicles and game-viewing schedules.
Saruni Wild’s location in the Mara North Conservancy, which is separate to the main public reserve, allows for excellent game-viewing in a part of the Mara visited by relatively few. This region is particularly famous for its big cat predators, as well as giraffe, elephant, buffalo and all manner of plains game. Wild dog can occasionally be sighted, as can leopard. Of course this is also an excellent spot to witness the migration (though to see the famous river crossings you really need to allow a full-day to get to the Mara River and back).
One of our favourite places to sleep in the Mara, Saruni Wild is a lovely camp in an unspoiled setting, known for its top quality, private game-viewing and superbly-trained Maasai guides.
