Setam Lodge is located in the town of Ranomafana, high on a hill with fabulous views of the rainforest and park below. Of all the lodges in and around Ranomafana, Setam is the closest to the National Park.
This is a simple hotel with bungalow rooms set within pretty gardens. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, and the cooking delicious! The primary benefit of Setam, however, is the location, which is ideal for visits to Ranomafana National Park.
Accommodation
Setam is a small complex that centers on a main lodge where the reception, bar, outside terrace and dining room can be found. The accommodation, in bungalows set along the hillside and facing the forest, is separate to the main lodge. The rooms are large, airy and furnished in a clean, simple style. They feature electric fans rather than AC and a small verandah at the front.
Dining
Setam Lodge's dining room has made the most of its location with large picture windows that look out onto the forest. The atmosphere is relaxed; guests are free to dine privately or with others.
A continental breakfast is served with fresh juice, bread, pastries and hot drinks. Lunch can be enjoyed on the terrace when the weather permits. The dinner menu changes daily.
Activities
Explore Ranomafana National Park, with its several rare species of lemur, such as the golden bamboo lemur, red bellied and eastern grey bamboo lemur, and Milne-Edwards’ sifaka. The park offers many other species including reptiles, mammals and a huge variety of birdlife.
Child Policy
Children of all ages can be accommodated at Setam Lodge. The lodge offers a babysitting service.
