Simbavati River Lodge is located to the northern reaches of the Timbavati Private Game Reserve, close to the border with Kruger National Park (the reserve adjoins the unfenced western Kruger border, meaning the game is always plentiful, as it moves freely between the two reserves).
Simbavati is a small, friendly lodge that is exceptionally well-priced for what it offers. With an excellent location in a little explored region of the Greater Kruger (and good access to Kruger NP itself), as well as comfortable mid to upper-range accommodation, it is one of our favourite places to stay in the area.
Accommodation
There are 7 rooms at Simbavati: three family chalets under thatch, and four luxury safari tents. The chalets are larger than the tents and feature two bedrooms and a shared washroom; the tents have a single double bedroom with bathroom. All rooms have a viewing deck, air-conditioning and comfortable furnishings.
