Opened in Nov 2012, Singita Mara River Tented Camp is the latest addition to Singita’s range of luxury safari camps. With only 6 tents and a unique location north of the Mara river in the Lamai triangle (a short distance from the Kenyan border), Singita Mara is among the Serengeti’s most exclusive and intimate retreats. The camp is located on a bend in the Mara River, perfectly positioned to catch the best view of the famous river crossings that take place during the annual migration.
Singita Mara River Camp is built on raised wooden platforms. The rooms and public areas are under canvas, in the traditional safari-style, though the decor is contemporary, in keeping with other Singita lodges.
Mara River Camp is only the latest Singita lodge to have opened in the Serengeti. Its sister lodges include Faru Faru, Sasakwa and Sabora.
Accommodation
Like the public areas, the rooms at Singita Mara are built on raised wooden platforms under canvas, each with a private viewing deck. They are spaced well-apart allowing for a good level of privacy. The interiors are beautifully designed and offer plenty of space, with full-size beds, lounge areas, and open bathrooms (with private bathtubs as well as showers).
Two of the tents are joined by a covered walkway, creating a family unit.
