Somalisa Expeditions Camp

Somalisa Expeditions Camp is a traditional bush camp located in the enormous, game-rich Somalisa Concession of Hwange National Park – a private concession of 15,000 square kms that it shares with its sister camps Somalisa Camp and Somalisa Acacia Camp.

Somalisa Expeditions Camp is set under a grove of acacia trees and bordered by vast grasslands, which attract an array of plains game. The camp overlooks a waterhole much loved by elephants and other game.

The main camp area consists of a relaxing lounge area with comfy sofas, a small library, bar and dining room. Below this is a deck with firepit and small swimming pool with sun loungers.

This is an excellent camp for those looking for a true bush wilderness experience. Guiding at all three Somalisa camps is superb and walking safaris are a particular highlight.

NB. There is no wi-fi or mobile phone reception here. However, there is a satellite phone for emergencies.

Accommodation

Somalisa Expeditions accommodates its guests in six Meru-style tented rooms with hardwood floors, canvas roofs and walls. Each tent is raised off the ground and set in the shade of acacia trees. The interiors are furnished with large double beds, bedside tables, mosquito netting, storage for clothes and valuables, a writing desk, charging facilities, and tea and coffee making facilities. An ensuite bathroom is accessed from the back of the tent and provides flush toilet, washbasin, and shower. Toiletries are provided.
