St James of Knysna is an intimate, owner-run boutique hotel situated in the town of Knysna, one of the famous stops on South Africa’s popular Garden Route. It enjoys an enviable location in what is undoubtedly one of the most attractive locations in Knysna, right on the coast overlooking the famous Knysna Lagoon and Heads.
Small and exclusive, St. James of Knysna comprises two buildings, the Manor and the Courtyard, set among 3 acres of manicured gardens. It’s a wonderful place to relax. The beach isn’t far, and the gardens offer quiet walks and amusement, with two swimming pools with loungers, a large Koi pond, croquet course and private jetty.
Accommodation
St James offers 15 rooms and suites, split between the Manor and Courtyard buildings. All enjoy a view of the lake, garden or lagoon. Each room/suite features an en-suite bathroom, mini bar, tea and coffee making facilities, satellite TV, safe, iron & ironing board, direct-dial telephone, bath robes and hairdryer.

Dinner is served in the candlelit dining room and accompanied with fine wine from St James’ cellar. There’s also a relaxed bar, the Paquita, which faces the lagoon.
