Tarangire Treetops

Tarangire Treetops is a unique, stylish camp with a very exclusive location in a private concession bordering Tarangire National Park.

Tarangire Treetops is one of the most impressive camps in the Tarangire region. It is situated just outside the boundaries of the National Park, in the private Lolkisale Concession, where it enjoys a quiet location amid baobab forests and undulating hills.

Tarangire Treetops has a very distinctive design, a blend of organic materials and more modern furnishings. Its unique tree house rooms are large and stylish, and the guest areas no less comfortable. At the centre of the lodge is a large open-air reception area, built on a raised wooden deck wrapped around a huge baobab tree. This connects to the dining and bar/lounge areas. Separate to this is a small curio shop and a pool deck.

Tarangire Treetops is situated in a private concession outside of the National Park. This has certain advantages—the location is quiet and removed from the crowds, and allows for activities not possible within the boundaries of the national park, such as night drives and guided walks. On the other hand, the game in this region is more limited than in the national park, and while it is easy to visit the park from Treetops, it does entail a short drive to the northern gate at the beginning of each game drive. Those wanting to experience the very best game-viewing that Tarangire has to offer might consider one of the camps situated within the park, particularly the remote southern camps. Those looking for a stylish camp in a quiet location, however, and a more varied range of activities, will find much to like in Treetops.

Accommodation

Tarangire Treetops' 20 tree house rooms are designed to blend in with their surroundings. The rooms are enclosed in mosquito netting, and are fully en-suite with spacious bathrooms equipped with double showers. Ceiling fans keep the rooms cool, while your private balcony offers fantastic views. In a lovely touch, much of the décor in the rooms has been constructed with recycled glass, aluminium, and reclaimed wood from old Zanzibar dhow boats – it really heightens the rustic, bush camp feel!
