Vuyatela Lodge is situated in the Djuma concession of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, part of the greater Kruger National Park.
The design of Vuyatela is totally unique. The main lodge buildings and guest chalets have been built using corrugated iron, mud, thatch and locally-sourced wood to create an authentic, yet luxurious, effect.
The cultural theme is also apparent in the activities on offer at Vuyatela. As well as the usual game drives and walks, you will also have the opportunity to accompany your Shangaan guide to his local village – a modern, contemporary village, we should add, not a ‘traditional’ village. It’s a unique opportunity to interact with the locals and adds a different dimension to what would otherwise be a standard Kruger safari.
The facilities at Vuyatela include a large double deck with excellent views, outdoor dining, wine cellar, bar overlooking the watering hole, gym and lounge.
Accommodation
Each of the chalets at Vuyatela Lodge is in fact a collection of buildings joined together. The lounge is separated from the bedroom and dressing room by a beautiful Teak deck, which ends at the private plunge pool – from here, you can enjoy unobstructed views of the wild Kruger bush.
The chalets are en-suite with indoor bath and outdoor shower.
