Visa Requirements

UK, US and EU citizens require a visa to enter Laos. This can be arranged in advance through your embassy or on arrival. You must hold a full ten-year passport with at least six months to run from the end of your trip, and at least two blank pages for your visas and entry/exit stamps – make sure your passport is stamped on entry. You also need a passport photo for your visa. A visa costs US$35 with a $5 handling fee at the border and allows for a stay of up to 30 days (single entry only). It must be paid for in US dollars cash.
