South Luangwa Wilderness Safari

On arrival in Mfuwe, you will be met and transferred to a Bushcamp Company Camp. During December, there are three exclusive camps to choose from, depending on availability and preference: Bilimungwe, Kapamba and Zungulila. Each of the three bush camps is located in the remote southern regions of the park amid wild surroundings, and each has its own individual character. Just eight guests can be accommodated at each camp, ensuring that your stay is peaceful, relaxing, and tailored to your individual interests and needs.

You’ll stay four nights at your chosen bush camp on full-board basis, with daily game-viewing activities, all National Park fees and conservation levies included.

During your stay, you will have the opportunity to explore the Luangwa Valley on foot or by 4x4 - or a combination of the two. Driven safaris (day and night) allow you to cover more ground and get as close to the wildlife as possible, while walking safaris offer a very different perspective on the bush. All activities are led by experienced guides with an intimate knowledge of the bush.

Mfuwe Lodge
Mfuwe Lodge is situated in a prime location in the centre of the park. Sheltered beneath ebony trees, the lodge overlooks a huge ox-bow lagoon that attracts a rich variety of game.

The lodge has 18-rooms which centre on an open-plan lounge, dining room and bar. It opens onto a wide wooden deck with infinity pool, raised just above the lagoon so as to make the most of the wonderful views. There's also a library and a spa with jacuzzi.

The thatched chalets are built on raised platforms, all with views of the lagoon, and equipped with amenities including mini-fridges and tea/coffee facilities.

The guiding and game-viewing at Mfuwe Lodge is of a high standard, in keeping with the other camps in the Bushcamp portfolio. There is more of an emphasis on game drives rather than walking safaris, which are better suited to the more remote regions of the Luangwa valley.
